Contract type: 6 months Fixed‑term, 40 hours per week

Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania with possibility of travel to field offices

About the role

As our Multimedia Communications Assistant you will provide support in various aspects of multimedia content creation and assist in with video production, including shooting, editing, and post-production during for organizational events, Programme activities, and other related needs.

The position falls under the Advocacy, Campaigns and Communications department and report directly to Communications and Campaign Officer.

and work closely with WaterAid Tanzania staff to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in planning and executing video shoots, including script preparation, location scouting, and equipment setup.
  • Edit and produce short-form and long-form video content for various platforms.
  • Take professional-quality photos of events, products (models), or other related content.
  • Assist with documentary filmmaking, including video recording, editing, and research.
  • Support graphic design tasks such as creating flyers, posters, social media posts, and presentations using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions, providing fresh ideas for creative campaigns.
  • Maintain and organize video, photography, and design files at SharePoint and asset bank.
  • Adhere to deadlines and ensure timely delivery of all tasks.
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree related to Film, Television Studies, visual communications, graphic design, digital media etc
  • Basic knowledge of camera operation, including cameras and video equipment.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe creative suite).
  • Proficiency in photography and editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other photo editing tools).
  • Understanding of color grading and audio mixing for video production.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and the best formats for digital content production.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Understanding of design principles, typography, and layout for both print and digital media.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Strong creative skills with a good eye for design, visual storytelling, and composition.
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute creative ideas into finished visual products (e.g., videos, photographs, graphics
