Job Description
Nature and Scope
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Internal Auditor. He/She will be responsible for the internal control processes within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of the annual internal audit plan.
- Conduct internal audit engagements as assigned, including financial, operational, and compliance audits.
- Perform detailed testing of controls, transactions, and processes to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare and document audit work papers with clear and concise findings.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports, summarizing findings and recommendations for management.
- Monitor and follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely closure.
- Support the Chief Internal Auditor in evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and governance processes.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field from recognised University/Institution.
- Progressive experience of at least two (2) years in an internal audit or accounting role, particularly within a cooperative organisation in the cashew industry.
- Enrollment in a professional certification program (CPA, ACCA, CIA) is a significant advantage.
- Foundational knowledge of auditing standards, financial regulations, and internal control principles.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- A comprehensive understanding of the operational framework of cooperatives in Tanzania is a significant advantage.
