Chief Internal Auditor

Nature and Scope

The successful candidate will report to the Joint Enterprises Board and administratively to the General Manager.  The candidate will be responsible to add value and improve operations by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control management and governance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit
• Lead and manage internal audit engagements, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings and recommendations to management and the Board.
• Monitor the implementation of audit
• Provide independent assurance on the accuracy and reliability of financial and operational
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of internal

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field from recognised University/Institution.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIA) is
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in internal audit, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role, preferably within an agricultural cooperative or similar
• In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, financial regulations, and risk management
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership
• A comprehensive understanding of the operational framework of cooperatives in Tanzania is a significant advantage.
