Job Description

To monitor all Islamic Banking Unit operations and transactions, especially financing transactions end to end, ensuring they adhere to laid down shariah principles and processes according to the approved standards and best practice.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Work hand in hand with Islamic Banking business managers and branch network teams ensuring the financing transactions and deposit accounts adhere to approved shariah compliant processes.
  • Monitor executed deals and transactions have the right documentation to align with shariah principles and processes as per the existing manuals and as approved by Shariah Advisory board from time to time.
  • Bring to light and communicate any findings that needs to be corrected or have proven to be in violation of laid down processes for shariah compliance including advising on missing documents etc.
  • Work hand in hand with Internal Auditors together with the Islamic Banking Managers and other teams during periodic internal audits for Islamic Banking operations.
  • Review and analyze all issues as raised from various reports such as Audit/Compliance/Risk and ensure appropriate actions are implemented.
  • Fully review the audit reports of internal auditors, external auditors and Bank examiners, and work on the areas for recommendations by addressing the root causes.
  • Managing and updating Islamic Banking Unit Risk Register.
  • Assist in the Islamic Banking product development processes
  • Provide support in developing, reviewing and implementing process manuals (policy documents and procedure manuals/user guides) relating to daily operations under Islamic Banking Unit.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Its Equivalent
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Banking Operations
