Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is looking for qualified candidates to join its Sales & Marketing team as Route To Market Specialists. The successful candidates will report to the Country Lead Route To Market.
CCBA is the eighth largest Coca-Cola authorised bottler in the world by revenue and the largest on the African continent. The company accounts for more than 40% of all Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverages sold in Africa by volume. With over 14,000 employees, CCBA serves more than 800,000 customers across 14 African countries, including Tanzania.
Key Purpose
The Route To Market Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and optimization of Route To Market (RTM) strategies to ensure efficient product distribution, improved market penetration, and effective commercial execution.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Regularly review operational KPI performance, including Ordered vs. Delivered metrics, and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Monitor the sustainability of distribution partners through monthly and quarterly Profit & Loss (P&L) reviews, DOSA audits, and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Ensure all customer master data related to sales is accurately maintained to support reliable business reporting and informed decision-making.
- Optimize resource allocation and customer visit sequencing to drive cost-effective operations and efficient route management.
- Develop and present well-evaluated Route To Market (RTM) proposals that enhance sales performance, customer engagement, and promotional effectiveness.
- Ensure RTM simulations result in feasible and successful implementation plans aligned with business objectives and market requirements.
- Apply the business RTM model to efficiently allocate resources and schedule customer visits, achieving targeted cost objectives annually or as business requirements evolve.
- Ensure all customer interactions are aligned with the RTM model to maximize operational efficiency, customer coverage, and cost effectiveness.
- Evaluate existing RTM structures to identify improvement opportunities and recommend optimized RTM solutions for commercial initiatives.
- Assess product, promotional, market, customer, and employee-related factors to strengthen RTM effectiveness and improve overall commercial performance.
- Conduct RTM simulations using established parameters to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed models before implementation.
- Analyze RTM simulation outcomes to confirm alignment with business objectives and operational practicality.
- Collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, Central Sales, Regional Sales teams, and other key stakeholders to align RTM strategies and ensure consistent execution across the business.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies affecting RTM strategies while regularly reviewing RTM processes, gathering stakeholder feedback, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuously adapt RTM strategies and processes to respond to evolving business needs, ensuring sustained operational efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in sales within an FMCG environment.
- Experience in applying Route To Market (RTM) principles to optimize sales operations is an added advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with routing and logistics software.
Skills
- Proficiency in maintaining large datasets while ensuring accuracy and consistency for reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of Route To Market models, with the ability to apply and interpret these models in a commercial environment.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend optimal RTM solutions based on market, product, and customer needs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience using routing and logistics software.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
