JOB PURPOSE
To maintain the efficiency of the carpentry workshop by controlling building materials and civil hand tools at the tool store. The successful candidate should have the ability to read sketches, use all carpentry hand tools, perform basic woodworking operations such as sawing, joining, planing and sanding, and interpret technical drawings.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare maintenance schedules for the carpentry workshop.
• Maintain the register book for civil hand tools.
• Maintain register books for timber and other building materials.
• Supervise maintenance workers, including carpenters and sign writers, at the workshop.
• Prepare weekly performance reports for the workshop.
• Repair all wooden furniture and related items.
• Supervise the cleanliness of the workshop and advise on the disposal of scrapped building materials.
• Encourage and strengthen innovation in sign writing techniques and technology.
• Maintain standard operating procedures throughout work schedules.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Trade Test Level III in Carpentry.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Carpenter.
