Job Description
Hello Zanzibar
We’re Attitude, and we’re coming soon. In 2025, we’re opening our very first hotel outside Mauritius, right here in Matemwe: an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars. It’s a new chapter for us, and we’re putting a lot of heart into making it something special.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee stewarding staff (kitchen cleaners, dishwashers, etc.).
- Schedule and coordinate staff shifts.
- Train and evaluate stewarding personnel.
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Maintain stock of kitchen and cleaning supplies.
- Monitor usage of chemicals and materials.
- Order and restock as necessary.
- Control breakage and loss of kitchenware.
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of kitchen equipment and facilities.
- Supervise garbage disposal and pest control measures.
- Support kitchen and operations by ensuring timely availability of clean dishes and equipment.
- Set up and clean up for events ,or shifts.
- Collaborate with chefs and F&B managers for smooth kitchen flow.
- Maintain records of breakages, chemical use, and inventory.
- Report issues to relevant departments or Management.
- Track cleaning schedules and equipment maintenance.
YOUR QUALITIES:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management would be an advantage
- Proven 3-5 years of experience in Stewarding, and ideally 1-2 years experience at a supervisory or managerial level
- Ability to embody and instil Attitude’s DNA and culture within the hotel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and sanitation protocols.
- Understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles.
- Familiarity with dishwashing equipment and basic kitchen operations.
- Capacity to respond quickly to operational needs.
- Physically fit and capable of standing/walking for long hours.
- Excellent communication skills: Clear, professional verbal and written skills and fluency in English and Swahili. A third language would be a definite advantage.
- An understanding of the African Market will be a definite advantage.
- Ability to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic and guest centric environment
