Sous Chef at Plaza Premium Group

The ideal candidate has a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist the Executive Chef in providing exceptional food quality and presentation.

• Assist food preparation, cooking, ensure consistency, quality and general duties in kitchen.
• Ensure food hygiene, health, and safety standards are maintained (HACCP
• Assist with Menu development.
• Ensure food quality, position size, presentation to meet standards.
• Ensure consistency, quality in all food production
• Ensure ingredients quality when delivery / ordering.
• Maintain smooth operations in the kitchen.
• Assist supervisor for preparing the weekly shift schedule and roster.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station
• To put into effect team’s cooperation and work towards development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality management system.
• Take initiative to identify areas for improvement and participate in continual improvement activities.
• Supervise and train Commis Chefs and Kitchen Stewards
• Compile and Submit all kitchen logs.
• Ensure that the Kitchen operations are in compliance with the Food and Hygiene Regulations

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, preferably in a 4-5 Star Hotel or catering industry
• Degree in Culinary Art or Diploma in Food Production
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Mastery of Food safety regulations
• Computer knowledge and operation
• Shift duty is required
