Information and Communication Technology Officer at PASS Trust Tanzania

The Officer – Information and Communication Technology is responsible for the implementation of ICT strategic planning, development of applications, system administrator governance, ICT support for automation/digitization, and innovations at PASS Trust and its subsidiaries.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and ensure timely data backup for all critical systems.
• Train users on new and existing systems to enhance their efficiency.
• Configure new equipment, such as personal computers, printers, modems, laptops, and network devices.
• Collaborate with the ICT team to develop and manage Artificial Intelligence tools.
• Evaluate, implement, and manage best practices for ICT systems security and governance.
• Maintain and perform preventive maintenance for hardware and software in all computing devices.
• Ensure data synchronization between the Disaster Recovery (DR) Site and the production site.
• Provide support for PASS systems by liaising with vendors to resolve business issues.
• Ensure a secure environment for equipment and safe operations within the PASS environment.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to purchase agreements for system equipment, machinery, and software.
• Advise the team on innovations and acquisitions of system hardware, software, machinery, equipment, and services.
• Manage and ensure critical systems and all peripheral systems are up and running at an acceptable threshold to support business and operations.
• Ensure safe and proper control of access to the Server Room and Disaster Recovery Site.
• Ensure proper custody of system data logs, security logs, and CCTV footage.
• Ensure server room and PASS physical security gadgets are properly maintained and monitored, in compliance with PASS Physical Security Policy.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Communication Technology or any related discipline.
• Professional IT certification is an added advantage.

Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in the field.
• Knowledge in AI, including programming, data analysis, and potentially AI ethics, is an added advantage for integrating AI into ICT systems.
• Proficiency in SQL commands and scripts is an added advantage.
• Experience in supporting core systems is an added advantage.
• High-level skills and knowledge of working in a virtualized, Microsoft server environment and Linux.
• High-level skills and knowledge of networks in a complex environment.
• Help desk skills, with an emphasis on customer service and user training.
• Experience in the administration of servers.
• Experience in supporting end users.
• Knowledge of current trends and developments in information and communication technology.
