Demand Planner

The Role

The Demand Planner will be responsible to coordinates delivery orders, controls inventory, supports stock process, takes care of an administrative and operational movement of products across international borders in the Central Africa Region.

The position requires good knowledge of Sandvik’s business portfolio to work on the right solutions for customers, ensuring easy movements of products between factories, warehouses and mines.

The role will be based in Mwanza, Tanzania, reporting to the Business Line Manager, Ground Supports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety and Environment

  • Comply with all aspects of the Sandvik Environment, Health and Safety Policy, and any reasonable instructions, procedures or systems of work which are given in the interest of providing safe work practices in the workplace and to eliminate environmental harm.

Inventory Coordination & Delivery of Orders

  • Working closely with suppliers and logistic providers, coordinating shipping schedules, transportation, distribution of goods to ensure timely delivery of materials and products to customers and warehouses
  • Optimizing logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Responsible for analysis and driving stock optimization initiatives, coordination of any improvement activities related to inventory control
  • Responsible for analysis and maintenance of inventory parameters set for standard assortment in the stockrooms
  • Responsible for aligning schedules with relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for goods in transit, working on import and export related activities
  • Actively lives and considers the Sandvik Company Values in all work.

  • Work and collaborate with all key stakeholders in Sales Area and backline with skills to navigate in matrix organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • A supply chain background with a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Economy or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, PowerBI, Power Point).
  • Deep understanding of customer business process, with at least 3 years active involvement with supply chain operations.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, proactive and self-motivated team player.
  • Ideally, the candidate must have understanding and experience for import & export processes.
