Contract type: 6 months Fixed‑term, 40 hours per week

Location: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania with possibility of travel to field offices

About the role

As our Grants and Fundraising Coordinator - Intern you will support donor engagement, proposal development, and grant management to help strengthen WaterAid Tanzania’s resource mobilization efforts and work closely with WaterAid Tanzania staff to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

  • Support in drafting concept notes and proposals
  • Organizing meetings and taking meeting notes and draft reports
  • Support in carrying out administrative and logistics duties to aid programme implementation such as raising partner financial requests; organise workshops, prepare letters and correspondences etc.
  • Tracking reporting timelines for secured restricted grants by regularly update reporting timelines and setup each schedule in individual calendars
  • Support fundraising travels by drafting ToRs and requesting for advance payments
  • Work collaboratively with other teams as may be required to deliver Country Programme business development and fundraising initiatives
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Head of Business Development
  • Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics or any other relevant discipline.
  • The person should be confident and fluent in conversation with donor, consortium lead and at external forums with good presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience of fundraising in the NGO sector would be an advantage.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong research and report writing skills an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, negotiate and influence across teams in order to achieve the best outcomes
