Job Description
Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Processing Operations Coordinator.
The Processing Operations Coordinator will support commission and ramp up of the Process Plant by leading the progressive increase in plant throughput and recovery in a controlled and safe manner, ensuring operating discipline, stable processes, and workforce capability. The role focuses on identifying constraints, embedding standard operating practices, coordinating with Metallurgy and Maintenance to resolve performance issues, and driving continuous improvement to achieve sustainable nameplate production.

2.People management
- Provide visible leadership and consistently role model Perseus Values and Zero Harm behaviours
- Lead, coach, and develop processing personnel to achieve safe, stable, and efficient plant performance
- Maintain a strong safety and compliance culture through clear standards, supervision, and accountability
- Ensure personnel are appropriately trained, competent, and authorized to perform assigned duties
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular, constructive feedback
- Conduct performance reviews and support individual development in line with Perseus processes
- Ensure effective workforce planning, including rostering, fatigue management, and leave coverage
- Promote clear communication and teamwork across shifts and departments
- Manage employee and contractor performance and behavior in accordance with company policies
3. Operations
- Support commissioning, ramp up, and optimization activities as required
- Provide day to day leadership of processing plant operations to ensure safe, stable, and efficient production
- Deliver processing performance in line with production targets, recovery, throughput, and cost objectives
- Ensure compliance with approved operating philosophies, procedures, and metallurgical parameters
- Monitor plant performance and take timely corrective action to address process instability, downtime, or losses
- Work closely with Process Management, Metallurgy, Maintenance, and HSE teams to optimise plant availability and reliability
- Follow management direction for continuous improvement in plant performance, recovery, reagent consumption, and operating costs
- Provide Accurate production reporting that is, timely, and compliant with site and corporate requirements
- Ensure plant equipment and infrastructure are operated within design limits and maintained in a safe condition
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Attributes:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in gold processing plant operations, including crushing, grinding, gravity recovery, leaching (CIL/CIP), elution, tailings and reagent management
- Proven experience supporting or leading plant commissioning, ramp up, stabilisation, and optimization
- Ability to interpret plant data, trends, and KPI’s to identify constraints and drive performance improvements
- Sound working knowledge of process plant equipment and operating limits
- Understanding of process control systems (DCS/SCADA) and standard operating philosophies
Desired
- Previous experience in a new build or brownfield gold plant commissioning project
- Exposure to continuous improvement frameworks and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Good understanding of plant optimization techniques, reagent efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience with nameplate achievement and debottlenecking initiatives
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Tertiary qualification or nationally recognized diploma in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of formal qualifications, professional certification, and relevant operational experience will be considered.
- Sufficient experience (typically 5+ years) in gold processing plant operations, with time spent in a supervisory or senior operating role
Additional Information:
- Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
- Incumbent may be expected to work outside Normal Working Hours on occasions.
- Incumbent will from time to time be required to travel on company business.
