Big Data & Analytics Manager at Mixx By Yas

Mixx is hiring a Big Data & Analytics Manager.

The requirements for this role are:

• A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• 5–10 years in data & analytics roles, with at least 2+ years managing teams.
• The job is located in Dar Es Salaam.

Core responsibilities:

• Lead and manage Data Analytics and Business insights teams.
• Define and execute the company's Big Data & Analytics strategy.
• Drive a data-driven culture across all business units.
• Oversee the design and maintenance of scalable data solutions and pipelines.
• Ensure data governance, quality, and data-driven standards.
• Deliver actionable insights to support strategy, innovation, and efficiency.
• Apply AI/ML and advanced analytics for predictive and prescriptive insights.
• Build dashboards, reports, and scorecards to track KPIs and business performance.
• Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for measurable impact.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop analytics talent while fostering collaboration and innovation.

Core competencies:

• Proven track record of building and leading analytics teams & big data solutions.
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker and other).
• Experience and familiarity with machine learning and AI frameworks.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level. Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
