Matron / Patron Student Welfare & Residential Care

IIT Madras Zanzibar is inviting applications for the positions of Matron and Patron to support student welfare, residential care, safety and wellbeing within the institutional hostels.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day pastoral care and student wellbeing.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of students in the hostels.
• Respond to medical emergencies and incidents.
• Conduct regular inspections of hostel facilities.
• Maintain student, facility and inventory records.
• Support incident reporting and crisis management.
• Coordinate with the respective departments and ensure a safe, supportive residential environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in a relevant role is an added advantage; freshers may also apply.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, counselling and conflict-resolution skills.
• Good understanding of student welfare, accommodation policies and safeguarding.
• English language proficiency.
