Responsibilities

  • Provide timely plans to the open-pit operations team to enable achievement of objectives set in the Mine Business Plans.
  • Perform Drilling and blasting QAQC including hole tracking.
  • Creation of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedules and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance to and monitor effectiveness of Mine Plans by daily engaging with the open-pit operations team
  • Mining equipment productivity simulation and scenario planning.
  • Identify Continuous Business Improvement opportunities.
  • Support the safety, health and environmental programmers.
  • Ensure that company policies, procedures and work standards are adhered to and kept up to date.
  • Work, cooperate and support contractors/consultant working for North Mara Open Pits.
  • Reduced dilution, ore loss through optimized manual design of mining blocks.

Qualification Requirements

  • Degree in Mining Engineering

Experience And Competencies Needed

  • At least 3 months to 1 year or less practical experience in Mining engineer
  • Understanding of basic Mines Health & Safety Act
  • A good knowledge and recognition of building materials is essential

About The Team

The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.

North Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground) and Nyabirama (open pit). The process plant has the capacity to process an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
