Responsibilities
- Ensuring all tasks or activities are always executed and aligned with safety standard operating procedures and safe work instructions.
- Analyzing project specifications, developing work schedules, and delegating tasks to different teams
- Ensuring that each project stays within the allocated budget and timeframe
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements
- In-depth understanding of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions
- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, contractor’s performance) and report regularly on project status
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project stake holders to provide assistance and technical support.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Project management experience is recommended
- Proficient with MS Office & MS Project
- Valid Driving License
Experience and competencies needed.
- Must have a minimum of 5 (Five) years worked as Project Engineer on Construction Projects
- Must have strong mechanical background with Steel Fabrication and Erection works, Equipment Installation and Commissioning works.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.
- Possess a valid light vehicle manual-class driving license.
- Mines Health & Safety Act Awareness.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with and commitment to HSE best practice.
- Ability to consistently manage such a diversified portfolio in a high-pressure environment.
- Highly professional conduct at all times and the ability to deal with a diverse client base.
- Performance orientated, strongly motivated and maintains a high work standard. Strong work ethic.
- Shows initiative. Adaptable to change management processes. Focused on continuous improvement.
