Egis Airport Operation (EAO), a leading provider of airport operations services, is involved in project development, engineering, management, and airport development. With over 30 years of experience, EAO currently supports the operation of 21 airports across four continents, including five in Francophone Africa.

Job Description

As part of its development, Egis Airport Operation is seeking an Administrative and Financial Director for an airport concession in an African country.

The missions covered are as follows: 

Management : 

  • Define the main orientations of the control systems
  • Continue the deployment of internal procedures
  • Establish the management procedures and indicators necessary for monitoring activities and reporting (dashboards, interim financial statements)
  • Manage and execute budgets in conjunction with other departments, analyze them, and proactively suggest areas for improvement.
  • To be responsible for the updated 25-year financial forecast (business plan)
  • Comply with SOX standards for separation of responsibilities

Financial aspects:

  • Ensure the reliability of the company's accounts (general, analytical, multi-site budget) and prepare financial and accounting documents in accordance with the legislation
  • To be responsible for all aeronautical and non-aeronautical invoicing
  • Ensure the collection of all products and monitor statistical traffic production
  • Prepare the financial statements and tax return
  • Monitor the company's cash flow
  • Maintain asset accounting records and monitor annual and biannual investment schedules
  • Managing relationships with the various departments responsible for tax assessment and collection (Corporate Tax, Securities Income Tax, VAT, TSS, etc.)
  • Responding to tax audits and organizing teams to meet response deadlines
  • To investigate tax adjustment decisions that may be made by the tax authorities following audits.
  • Managing the relationship with the auditors
  • To monitor and validate the commercial statistics of the various airports

Legal aspects:

  • Ensure the legal, tax and accounting compliance of the concession's activities
  • Handling common legal issues
  • Monitor ongoing legal proceedings with lawyers
  • Managing relations with Customs
  • Drafting and revising contracts with suppliers
  • Drafting and revising Temporary Occupation Authorizations (AOTs)
  • Participate in board meetings and general assemblies (preparation of financial documents)
  • Follow and comply with contractual obligations according to the concession agreement

Management:

  • Supervise the accounting teams while respecting deadlines and procedures
  • Being responsible for insurance contracts
  • Organize the company's general secretariat
  • Supervise and organize the archiving of the various departments
  • To be responsible for all administrative and logistical aspects of expatriates (housing, vehicles, travel, children's schooling, payroll, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Bac +5 in finance, accounting (DCG/DECF, DSCG/DESCF, chartered accountancy), management, economics or law, ideally business law.
  • Professional experience: 10 to 15 years, with experience on the African continent
  • Expert mastery of general accounting techniques and standards.
  • Good knowledge of tax rules (VAT, corporation tax, business taxes, etc.) and business financial techniques.
  • Knowledge of the operation and activities of an airport operating company is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ease in communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills, and experience with an ERP system such as SAGE.
