Job Description
PalmPay is a Pan-African fintech company currently operating in Ghana, Nigeria and expanding to other markets in Tanzania. We’re reinventing the payments experience by making it easy and reliable for everyone to transfer money, pay bills and shop online. We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Recovery Officer who will be recovering company assets from defaulting customers, dealers, or third parties. The role involves conducting field investigations, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring proper documentation of recovery activities. This position supports the company in minimizing financial losses and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field visits to locate and recover company assets from defaulting customers
- Investigate and verify ownership, status, and condition of company assets
- Collaborate with dealers, agents, legal authorities, and local officials to facilitate asset recovery
- Prepare detailed recovery reports, including recommendations for action or escalation
- Maintain accurate records of recovered assets, pending cases, and recovery activities
- Ensure all recovery activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
- Escalate high-risk, complex, or disputed recovery cases to the Fraud & Investigation Manager
- Provide verified information to support collections and fraud prevention teams
- Continuously improve asset recovery processes by providing feedback and insights
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Criminology, Law, Security Studies, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in asset recovery, field investigations, debt collection, or compliance
- Strong knowledge of asset tracking, recovery methods, and legal procedures
- Familiarity with fraud prevention and investigative techniques
- Ex-police, ex-military, or security personnel with relevant field experience are highly encouraged to apply
