Job Description

Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), part of the Emirates Group and Maritime & Mercantile International (MMI), operates an award-winning portfolio of restaurants, cafés, and retail concepts across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. In Zanzibar, ELR operates ZOMA – an innovative, locally inspired concept that blends food, beverage, retail, and duty-free shopping at the new Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (Terminal 3).

Role Purpose

The role holder will be responsible to manage and maintain stock inventory and provide accurate expiry, short expiry and vintage reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis as required for the warehouse operations in Zanzibar.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure stock movements are adequately recorded in inventory and ERP.
  • Carry out periodic reconciliation between stock as per customs records (TANCIS) and stock in hand as per ERP/Inventory records.
  • Ensure all physical inventory checks are carried out at all locations as per planned schedules and report on the progress of Perpetual and Annual Counts.
  • Analyze processes and recommend process improvements required for achieving 100% accuracy in the receiving, putaway and picking process.
  • Validate receiving through GRN, put away and bin accuracy to ensure accurate stocks of both products and assets, including expiry/vintage/supplier batch, and report on pick discipline.
  • Produce audit reports of receipts, putaways and picking accuracy checks.
  • Generate monthly inventory reports for financial reporting.

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 6 years of warehouse experience within FMCG.
  • Exposure to ERP/WMS including use of RF technology.
  • Computer literate, able to compile reports and spreadsheet analysis using MS Office.
  • Sound knowledge of expiry controls.
  • Basic knowledge of audit, internal controls and accounting.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Zanzibar.
  • Strong numerical skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Dynamics AX.
  • Fluent in East African languages (e.g., Swahili).
  • Prior experience with East African custom regulations.
