Chinese Translator (Construction Site) at XCMG East Africa

XCMG, a global leader in the construction machinery industry, is seeking a dedicated and fluent Chinese Translator to join our East Africa Regional Headquarters in Dar es Salaam. This role is pivotal in bridging the communication gap between our Chinese technical teams and local operations, ensuring seamless execution of infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

You will provide real-time oral and written translation for Chinese expatriates and local staff, specifically within construction site environments. This includes translating technical instructions for heavy machinery operation, explaining safety protocols, and facilitating meetings between project managers and site workers. You will also be responsible for translating project documentation, maintenance manuals, and daily reports to ensure all stakeholders are aligned with XCMG’s global standards.

Requirements

• Linguistic Proficiency: High fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is mandatory, with the ability to handle normal, fast-paced professional communication.
• Educational Background: A minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated Chinese language study or equivalent immersion experience.
• Physical Capability: Candidates must be willing and able to work actively on-site at various construction projects, navigating outdoor and industrial environments.
• Gender: Male (as per specific operational site requirements).
• Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a cultural mediator between international and local teams.
