Job Description
The Teachers Training Program Manager leads the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of TFFT’s teacher capacity-building initiatives. This role plays a vital part in ensuring educators are equipped to provide inclusive, high-quality, learner-centered instruction. The incumbent will also oversee resource planning and mobilization, and staff performance management.
Because of our lean staffing, it is expected that the Program Manager will also be engaged in providing support to other key activities of the organization occasionally.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development and Implementation
- Design and oversee the implementation of teacher training initiatives that are aligned with national standards and TFFT’s mission and strategic goals
- Lead the development of annual work plans, training calendars, and budgets
- Support resource mobilization and contribute to funding strategies for teacher development initiatives
- Identify and engage key education stakeholders to ensure program relevance and alignment with national and local priorities
Team Management and Capacity Building
- Lead and mentor program staff, ensuring professional growth and high performance.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals of program staff.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
- Develop and manage monitoring tools to assess training effectiveness and classroom practice improvements.
- Conduct regular field visits to observe teaching practices, identify gaps, and support continuous improvement.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to inform program refinement and organizational learning
Reporting and Administration
- Manage program budgets, logistics, and training schedules in coordination with the Program Coordinator.
- Prepare periodic reports for internal use and external stakeholders, including donors.
- Contribute to grant reporting as needed.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Open to Tanzanian nationals only
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in teacher training, coaching, or education program management
- Knowledge and a strong understanding of the Tanzanian education system
- Demonstrated ability in designing and developing impactful teacher training programs, curricula, or learning interventions
- Experience in leading annual program planning and contributing to organizational strategic planning processes
- Solid understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) principles and the ability to apply them for program refinement
- Proven experience in surfacing, analyzing, and communicating program outcomes to diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, including grant writing and developing fundraising proposals
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Fluency in Kiswahili and English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Willingness to commit to a two-year contract that includes a 6-month probationary period
