Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for Supervising maintenance employees in respective discipline to achieve maximum plant availability and equipment capacity (Maintenance Excellence). Hold teams accountable to the highest standards of maintenance, ensuring compliance to minimum operating standards.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Together with the teams, achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly, and off-crop shutdown targets ensuring that tasks are prioritized and planned in a logical, systematic and cost-effective way to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure implementation of preventative / reactive maintenance initiatives and plans to reduce costs and downtime.
  • Manage iAMP policy adherence to practices amongst maintenance teams.
  • Manage work quality to reduce rework and increase plant reliability.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability for respective area and ensure maintenance plans are aligned to achieve this.
  • Identify areas where equipment performance and quality management can be improved and manage the implementation of systems and processes to make improvements.
  • Ensure technical and maintenance reporting (Via SAP S4/HANA) is compliant with company policy and procedures.
  • Monitor performance and take corrective action where required.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability for respective area and ensure maintenance plans are aligned to achieve this.
  • Identify areas where equipment performance and quality management can be improved and manage the implementation of systems and processes to make improvements.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
  • 3+ years post experience in a heavy industry environment with at least 2 years in the sugar industry will be an added advantage.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills in Swahili and English.
  • Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to plan, organize, lead and control.
  • Creative, innovative and team working skills.

Terms of service: The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent Contract.
