Multimedia Reporter – Mwanaspoti (1 Post)

PURPOSE:

This position requires an exceptional journalist and digital native who is obsessed with using data & insights to generate engaging content and build audiences across multiple platforms. To strategize, plan, produce and edit content for the Mwanaspoti.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research and interviews to gather information on local news stories, events, and issues of interest to our readership.
• Produce high-quality multimedia content, including articles, videos, podcasts, and interactive graphics, to convey news and information across print and digital platforms.
• Craft compelling narratives that resonate with our audience, capturing the essence of each story through clear, concise, and engaging writing.
• Utilize multimedia toolsand software to edit videos, audio recordings, and images for publication. Ensure that all content meets our editorial standards for accuracy, fairness, and objectivity.
• Actively engage with our audience through social media platforms, responding to comments, questions, and feedback to foster a strong sense of community around our content.
• Work closely with editors, photographers, videographers, and other team members to coordinate coverage and ensure the successful execution of multimedia projects.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in multimedia journalism, and be willing to adapt to new tools and platforms as needed to enhance our storytelling capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Academic: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field

Experience: 2-3 years of working experience preferably in a multimedia or digital environment.
