Responsibilities
- Compliance with SHES charter
- Ensure adherence to all SHES policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard company personnel and assets
- Demonstrate safe behavior & leadership.
- Compliance with ANE manufacture and plant operating procedures, including work permits, confined space entry, control of change, PPE application, record keeping and security management and employee handbook.
- Participate in SHES programs.
- Enforcement of the requirements of the relevant Statutory regulations, SHES Policy and the Mine Standards.
- Ensuring that all accidents in the department are immediately notified to the Supervisor.
- Prepare, maintain and present, when required
- Good communication with Quality Control and address any problem immediately.
- Active participation in drafting and revision of operating procedures.
- Maintain timekeeping.
- Maintain proper housekeeping.
- Take full accountability by maintaining good safety practices and following environmental policies in the emulsion bay perimeter.
- Train new employees.
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures
- Active participation in site meetings, and demonstrable cooperation with Barrick and Contractors staff at site.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.
- To maintain inventory records of all raw materials, waste and provide ANE manufacturing and transfer operations safely within the guidelines set out in Barrick SOPs for ANE Manufacturing and Reload Depots and relevant Tanzanian Regulations.
Qualification Requirements And Competencies
- Mining technician knowledge
- Blasting certificate
- Self-starter
- Team player
- Knowledge of chemical and explosive handling is preferred
- Understanding Kiswahili and English language is a must.
