Job Title: Exploration project/site Lead

We are seeking to recruit an Exploration Lead for Bulyanhulu to join Tanzania Exploration team.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of site’s near-mine and regional exploration programs in alignment with the country strategy, budget and business objectives.
- Drive target generation, geological modelling, drilling and evaluation to advance discovery and resource-growth opportunities through clear decision points.
- Ensure high technical standards in geological interpretation, drill targeting, logging, sampling, QA/QC and exploration data management.
- Lead and develop the site exploration team, establishing clear accountabilities and promoting collaboration, technical excellence and high performance.
- Manage drilling contractors and consultants, ensuring delivery against safety, productivity, quality, cost and contractual requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Journey to Zero, the Global Drilling Standard, critical controls, environmental requirements and applicable regulatory and ISO standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts and operational risks, implementing timely corrective actions where performance deviates from plan.
- Support stakeholder engagement, land access, compensation, permitting and licence compliance to enable responsible and uninterrupted exploration activities.
- Provide accurate and timely technical, operational, safety and financial reporting, with clear recommendations to the Country Exploration Manager and AME leadership.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology / Geoscience from a recognized institution.
- Advanced Degree (MSc / PhD) will be viewed favourably.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- 10–15 years of progressive mineral exploration experience, preferably within orogenic gold systems, VMS and IRGD
- At least 3–5 years in a senior technical or project leadership role, managing multidisciplinary exploration teams.
- Demonstrated experience leading near-mine and regional exploration programs from target generation through drilling and evaluation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, community and environment.
- Exposure to world class exploration districts and Tier 1 ore bodies, with a track record of discovery seen advantageously.
- Firm understanding and recognition of mineralization models and geological processes.
- Geological / geophysical / geochemical interpretive and integration skills.
- Significant field-based exploration experience in Africa and/or the Middle East.
- Self-motivated and discovery driven, with focus on leadership.
- Displayed ability to work within high performing, multidisciplinary, successful team.
- Demonstrated proficiency in GIS and 3D geological modelling software. Experience with ArcGIS, Leapfrog Geo, Micromine, ioGAS is considered an asset.
- Ability to deliver concise technical and business focused presentations and reports in simple to understand format to a broad audience of cross functional peers and stakeholders required.
- Good communication and administration skills.
