  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with company standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.

About You

You are an experienced open pit mining leader with a proven track record of successfully leading large-scale mining operations, particularly through start-up and ramp-up phases. You thrive in dynamic environments, bring strong contractor management and operational leadership capabilities, and are passionate about building high-performing teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong understanding of contractor management, operational readiness, and mining infrastructure delivery
  • Experience leading diverse, multicultural teams with a focus on workforce development and succession planning
  • Proficiency with mining software such as Surpac, Deswik, or similar systems and exposure to fleet management and mine control systems
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to drive safe, productive operations in challenging and remote environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a practical, hands-on leadership approach.

It would be beneficial if you have:

  • Previous experience working in Africa or other remote international jurisdictions
  • Familiarity with Tanzanian mining legislation and environmental requirements
  • Exposure to both owner-operator and contractor mining models
  • Fluency in, or exposure to, Kiswahili or French
