Responsibilities
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure compliance with designs.
- Conduct regular inspections of drill holes as per design, collar points, length, dump, direction, and condition of drill holes.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling and blasting operation.
- Conduct inspections of underground magazines and maintain the stock quantity as per legal statutory measures and by safety standard according to the mining regulation.
- Monitor the magazine documentation on the issuing and delivery of explosives.
- Collect and analyze data from blast monitoring devices, including fragmentation on particle size distribution, ground vibration levels and blast hole surveys.
- To conduct development face inspections to monitor overbreak and underbreak, grade advance and development face parameters according to mine standard.
- Maintain accurate records of testing and inspection results.
- Work closely with drilling and blasting teams to ensure optimal drill and blast performance.
- Communicate errors and out-of-specification blastholes and explosive products.
- Prepare reports on blast performance and quality control metrics for management review.
- Assist in training site personnel on quality control procedures and safety practices related to drilling and blasting.
Qualification Requirements:
- Graduate diploma as a minimum, Mining qualification desirable
- Previous experience in drilling and blasting operations is preferred.
- Tanzanian Drivers licence required
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent attention to detail in data recording
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Use of a computer for spreadsheet, graph generation, report compilation, and presentation.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
