The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Production Geologist to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities
- Weekly review of planned vs. actual compared to weekly & monthly plans
- Provide development meters, tonnes and grades for monthly schedules & forecasts
- Ensure exposed headings are mapped and updated daily without causing production delay and Lithological and structural 3D models updated in Vulcan/Leapfrog
- Level updated by lithological, alteration, mineralization and structure plan.
- Available stope shapes/development cuts are loaded into Vulcan for required check/adjustment before drilling and blasting every week/month.
- Ensure stope notes and closure notes are timely done.
- Ensure Mining Instructions are timely done and all Geological inputs are highlighted.
- Assist Resource team with block model update by providing required information such as depletion shapes.
- Supervision and coordination of ore flow from underground to portals Pads and eventually to Rama ROM pad.
- Periodic truck factor test for production and haulage truck/equipment to have correct tonnes and densities reported.
- Ensure production/compliance reports are timely and correctly done (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly).
- Assist with and participate in training programs for the development of all Geologist, Geological Technicians and Assistant Geological Technicians.
- Assist Senior Geologist in supervision/instructing of Geological technicians and Assistant Technicians.
- All Team members to have an IDP in place and development completed within planned timeframe- Based on Operation needs
- Performance reviews completed accurately within given timeframe
- Ability to comply with departmental reporting structure.
- Be able to integrate with other sections within MRM
- Compliance to quality handover notes & Communication before leaving site for leave or any other reason
- Compliance to storing, maintaining records in electronic & hard copies of including but not limited to, Mining Instructions, Special Instructions, Workplace Safety Reports/Findings & Risk Assessments etc.
Qualification requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or related field required.
Experience and competencies needed.
- 5-years’ experience in mine and/or exploration geology
- Experience with Vulcan, Leapfrog, Micromine or other mining software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal. communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative on projects and work independently.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.
- Demonstrated people leadership + management skills and training.
- Familiarity with and commitment to OH&S and Environmental Management best practice.
- Database Software package.
- A valid Driver’s License. Have good work ethic and be goal oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Current light vehicle driver’s license.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office software.ie Power point.
- Familiarity with and commitment to HSE best practice.
- Possess a Valid Tanzanian driving license, class B, C, D and E.
- Able to Drive Manual Transmission/Stick Shift Transmission.

About the Team
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.
North Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground) and Nyabirama (open pit). The process plant has the capacity to process an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
