SACCO OFFICER JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Tanzania Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) Arusha is looking for a self – motivated, committed, and qualified SACCO OFFICER to join the team in Arusha.

Job Description

The officer will report to the Regional Executive Officer and the SACCO board, and will have the following responsibilities:

• Review and formulate policies, procedures and practices for SACCO operations
• Administration and processing of loans and follow- up of loan repayment
• Sending useful information to SACCO members
• Managing SACCO financial resources and assets
• Preparation of SACCO financial and activity reports (monthly, quarterly and factsheet)
• Come up with income generating activities for the SACCO.
• Recruit new SACCO members(youth, women, and groups)
• Prepare SACCO business plan and annual budgets
• Coordinate the external audit exercise and implement recommendations set forth.
• Organize and deliver training to SACCO members
• Organize board meetings and Annual General Meeting in an advisory capacity and implement the resolutions made thereof
• Conduct regular visits and evaluation of the performance of our district SACCOs
• Carry out other duties as prescribed in the rules / by – laws or directed by the Board

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A degree in cooperative management, microfinance or any business related degree
• Minimum of two ( 2) years working experience in a financial institution preferably a SACCO
• Computer literacy especially in MS Office and knowledge in accounting systems.
• Good presentation and reporting skills
• Knowledge of the cooperative Act and SACCO’s regulations.
