Medical Laboratory Scientist – Sales & Application Specialist

Encore Medics Limited is looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team as a Sales & Application Specialist.

This position is specifically for qualified Medical Laboratory Scientists with hands-on experience using clinical laboratory analyzers. Candidates without a Diploma/Bachelor’sDegree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent laboratory qualification will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for both sales and application support for clinical laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables.

• Promote and sell clinical laboratory analyzers, reagents and consumables to hospitals and laboratories.
• Identify new customers, generate leads, conduct customer visits and follow opportunities through to sales.
• Achieve assigned sales targets and maintain an active sales pipeline.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations.
• Provide application support, user training and troubleshooting for laboratory analyzers.
• Support installation, commissioning and customer acceptance of new equipment.
• Train laboratory scientists and technicians on analyzer operation, quality control, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Support customers in improving laboratory workflow and utilization of installed equipment.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations and tender documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with laboratory managers, pathologists, clinicians and other key customers.
• Provide post-installation follow-up and support to ensure customer satisfaction and continued reagent/consumable business.

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience working in a clinical/medical laboratory or as a laboratory equipment Application/Product Specialist.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting laboratory analyzers.
• Practical experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • Clinical Chemistry
  • Hematology
  • Immunoassay
  • Microbiology
• Good understanding of calibration, quality control, reagents, analyzer maintenance and laboratory workflow.
• Strong communication, presentation and customer-handling skills.
• Fluent in English and Swahili.
• Willingness to travel extensively within Tanzania.
• Strong interest and ability in sales and business development.

Added Advantage

• Previous experience selling or supporting laboratory equipment, reagents or IVD products.
• Previous experience as an Application Specialist, Product Specialist or Sales/Application Specialist.
• Experience working with established clinical laboratory systems.

This is not a general sales or marketing position.

The role requires a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist with hands-on laboratory analyzer experience who can combine technical/application knowledge with sales and business development.
