Job Description
Responsible for driving sales of agricultural inputs (seeds,fertilizers, crop protection) in the Central Region, providing agronomic support to farmers, agro-dealers, and distributors, and ensuring business growth and customer satisfaction.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Sales & Business Development
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for Central Region
- Manage and grow existing customers - agro-dealers, stockists, farmers, NGOs
- Identify and recruit new dealers/customers in Dodoma, Singida, Tabora,Manyara
- Collect orders, follow up on deliveries and ensure payment collection
- Prepare weekly sales plans, activity reports and monthly forecasts
B. Agronomy & Technical Support
- Provide agronomic advice on best practices - planting, fertilizer use, pest control, harvesting
- Conduct farm visits, field assessments, and soil/crop diagnostics
- Establish and manage demo plots and field days
- Train farmers and agro-dealers on product knowledge and usage
- Collect field data and submit Farmer Assessment Reports
C. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing and market trends in Central Region
- Track price changes, stock availability and demand patterns
- Submit weekly market intelligence reports and price trackers
- Report customer complaints, product performance and feedback to management
D. Customer Relationship & Credit Management
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, government extension officers, lead farmers
- Ensure timely debt collection and maintain debtor aging within company policy
- Handle product returns and claims as per SOP
- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in sales agronomist role with an agro-input company
- Strong knowledge of Central Region farming systems and crops (sorghum, maize, sunflower)
- Valid motorcycle riding license - able to ride in rural areas
- Computer skills - MS Excel, Word, reporting

- Strong selling and negotiation skills
- Excellent agronomic knowledge and farmer training skills
- Self-driven, able to work independently in remote areas
- Good communication and interpersonal skills - English & Swahili
- Target-oriented and able to work under pressure
