Job Description
UNDP is the United Nations' global development network, supporting countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through sustainable development solutions. In Tanzania, UNDP focuses on Inclusive Democratic Governance, Inclusive Economic Growth, Sustainable Livelihoods, Environmental Sustainability, Climate Change, and Resilience.
UNDP seeks an ICT Specialist to support the establishment and operationalization of a Multipurpose ICT Center at the Tanzania Peacekeeping Training Centre (TPTC). The center will serve as a hub for early warning, information management, reporting, and peacebuilding activities, strengthening community and institutional resilience through digital technologies.
The role will also support the development and enhancement of UNDP Tanzania’s data analytics and dashboard solutions.
Key Responsibilities
ICT Infrastructure & Systems Development
- Assess existing ICT capacity, design and deploy networking, communication, data management, and early warning systems, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and operational.
ICT Center Operations & Sustainability
- Support the establishment and day-to-day operation of the ICT Center, develop SOPs, oversee system administration, maintenance, and integration with relevant national and local early warning mechanisms.
Capacity Building & Stakeholder Support
- Deliver Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes, develop user manuals and training materials, build staff capacity in ICT systems, data management, and troubleshooting, and mentor counterparts to ensure long-term sustainability.
Data Analytics & Digital Innovation
- Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform, automate workflows, manage data integration and quality, and support digital platforms for early warning, real-time reporting, and monitoring of human security, economic, and public health risks.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Transformation, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant ICT experience

- English: Fluent (required)
