QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in:
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Computer Engineering
  • Or a related field
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise backup solutions.
• Professional certifications in backup technologies or storage management are an added advantage.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
• Schedule, initiate, monitor, and verify successful completion of backup jobs.
• Perform on-demand backups for:
  • Servers
  • Databases
  • Virtual machines
  • Applications
  • File systems
• Monitor auxiliary copy jobs and verify successful replication to tape media.
• Install, configure, and upgrade backup agents, such as Commvault, on new servers and clients as required.
• Move backup tapes to secure vault storage/location according to retention schedules.
• Perform restoration of:
  • Files
  • Databases
  • Virtual machines
  • Operating systems
  • Applications
    upon approved requests.
• Ensure organizational readiness for disaster recovery scenarios.
• Generate and distribute:
  • Daily backup reports
  • Weekly backup reports
  • Monthly backup reports
• Ensure backup systems comply with organizational security policies.
• Implement backup encryption and secure data transmission.

COMPETENCIES

• Technical knowledge of enterprise backup solutions and related technologies, including:
  • Commvault Simpana
  • Rubrik
  • Windows Server Administration
  • VMware vSphere
  • Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Other related technologies
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
• Team player with a high level of integrity.
