Job Purpose

The Manager Partnerships & Ecosystem is responsible for driving business growth through the identification, onboarding, and management of strategic digital partnerships across the value chain, including businesses, fintechs, telecommunications companies, and aggregators. The role supports the Senior Manager – Digital Solutions, Research & Development by overseeing the partnership lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluation through onboarding, relationship management, and performance optimization, ensuring partnerships deliver sustainable business growth and enhanced customer value.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and monitor the Partnerships and Fintech Framework to enable effective ecosystem strategy execution.
  • Research and identify partnership opportunities across selected sector ecosystems and anchor clients within the value chain, including suppliers, vendors, aggregators, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and ecosystem developments to drive innovation, improve customer experience, and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Develop and manage the partnership lifecycle management plan, including sourcing, onboarding, performance management, budgets, targets, and relationship governance.
  • Drive and manage the partnership pipeline across fintechs, anchor clients, suppliers, aggregators, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Prepare partnership ecosystem business cases to support investment and strategic decision-making.
  • Manage partner relationships and spearhead ecosystem development models that unlock cross-sector opportunities and drive end-to-end business growth.
  • Work with Marketing, Corporate, Business Transformation, Retail, and other stakeholders to develop and execute Go-To-Market (GTM) plans for partner onboarding, activation, and cross-sell initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate partner solution alignment forums and work closely with key stakeholders and partners to facilitate proofs of concept (PoCs), pilots, and demonstrations of emerging technologies applied to specific business use cases.
  • Provide enablement, training, and support to internal teams on new partner-provided solutions, end-to-end processes, and relevant policy enhancements.
  • Ensure all partner engagements and solutions comply with banking regulations, legal obligations, data protection requirements, security standards, and industry best practices, while embedding compliance and risk requirements into partner onboarding standards and deployment processes from inception.
  • Work closely with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Quality teams to assess partner-related risks and define mitigation plans.
  • Establish and maintain a clear audit trail for all partnership and innovation initiatives, including approvals, changes, and releases, while designing and preparing monthly ecosystem and partnership performance reports for executive management and providing visibility and insights to support portfolio performance, quality monitoring, and value realization across partnerships.
  • Lead and support commercial negotiations with fintechs, vendors, technology partners, and service providers; contribute to contract development and negotiations, ensuring commercial, compliance, data, and delivery requirements are clearly defined; evaluate third-party solutions and partnerships based on strategic fit, value creation, risk, and regulatory alignment; and manage relationships with all business partners to ensure mutual benefits.
  • Lead talent identification, mentoring, and skills development; ensure SMART KPIs are issued and monitored for all unit staff; conduct performance reviews and feedback sessions; and foster staff engagement and team motivation.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Computer Science, Economics with relevant experience, or equivalent related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience dealing with partnerships and a strong track record in a similar industry.
  • Experience in Business Analytics, creativity, agile project management, design thinking, business acumen, strategy execution, partnership/fintech management, and ecosystem development.
  • Deep understanding of the banking and telecommunications value chain and ecosystem, including partnerships across fintechs, aggregators, and enterprise clients.
  • Strong knowledge of partnership and ecosystem business models, including value creation, revenue sharing, and platform-based growth, with an understanding of credit, trade finance, and cash management solutions being an added advantage.
  • Solid awareness of market trends, emerging technologies, and digital ecosystems relevant to financial services, with a strong ability to identify opportunities and drive business growth through effective planning, execution, and partnership enablement.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influence, presentation skills, empathy, customer and partner focus, and the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships.
  • Strategic thinking, decision-making under uncertainty, innovation portfolio management, and a self-driven approach to achieving business objectives.
