Responsibilities
- Ensure the development operation meets safety targets through support of the lead indicator systems and enforcement of standard operating procedure.
- Ensure the development operation meets targets through support of the planning systems, particularly daily, weekly and monthly development planning and reporting.
- Ensure the development plan is followed by the team and ensure compliance is achieved.
- Provide leadership and support to the Continuous Improvement program and Training group, who report to this position.
- Plan and coordinate daily activities, manage schedules, and allocate resources to meet development goals. This involves coordinating with different teams, including development supervisors, mine engineers and engineering.
- Complete and sign daily shift reports, keep accurate records of inspections, and provide required data to management.
- Provide leadership and direct development shift supervisors on execution of daily activities.
- Ensure site personnel have job relevant training requirements which are entered on site personnel training register.
- Ensuring compliance with industry codes of practice and standards, as well as environmental and community relations policies.
Qualification requirements
- Tertiary or ordinary secondary education.
- Having a valid blasting certificate as per Tanzania regulations and or act(s).
- Having a valid driving license.
- A degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering will be of added advantage.
Experience and competencies needed
- At least five (5) years’ experience in underground development supervisory role.
- Experience and knowledge on development operations.
- Experience in multiple mining regions, and mining methodologies
