Location: Nyanzaga Mine Site, Tanzania
Employment Type: Fixed Term, 24 Months

About the Role
Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited is seeking a Graduate Metallurgist to join its metallurgical team at the Nyanzaga Mine Site.
The Graduate Metallurgist will work closely with the metallurgical team to monitor, test, and optimize processing circuits, contributing directly to plant performance and production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Environment and Community Relations
- Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, environment, and community relations.
- Champion a zero-harm safety culture across processing operations.
- Ensure processing facilities and practices comply with environmental obligations.
- Participate in incident investigations related to processing operations and ensure lessons learned are captured and converted into actions.
- Ensure all metallurgical activities comply with applicable safety and environmental requirements.
Leadership and People Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to metallurgical technicians and laboratory team members.
- Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Promote positive employee relations and compliance with workplace policies, codes of conduct, and industrial relations frameworks.
- Encourage workforce engagement through clear communication of goals, expectations, and performance outcomes.
- Promote process optimization and continuous improvement within the metallurgical team.
- Collaborate across functions while maintaining focus on processing priorities.
- Provide training and guidance to operations staff on safe and effective metallurgical practices.
Operations
- Ensure metallurgical data is properly interpreted and translated into actionable improvements on the plant floor.
- Monitor plant performance at a high level and identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimization.
- Monitor and perform routine testing on mineral processing circuits to ensure optimal performance.
- Work closely with the Processing Superintendent, Maintenance, and Technical Services teams to align metallurgical performance with production targets.
- Monitor key metallurgical KPIs and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from plan.
- Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements that deliver measurable gains in throughput, recovery, and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and support to the operations team.

Qualifications and Licences
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical foundation in mineral processing.

- Willingness to travel on company business when required.
