Job Description
Job Purpose
To manage inbound logistics, inventory control, and seed repacking activities, ensuring timely importation, accurate stock records, and proper inventory transactions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate import shipments from suppliers to Tanzania.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and transporters.
- Track shipments and ensure all import and clearance documents are complete.
- Coordinate receiving of imported goods and verify quantities, quality, and lot numbers.
- Post and monitor purchase receipts, transfers, and inventory transactions in Business Central.
- Maintain accurate physical and system inventory records.
- Conduct cycle counts and investigate stock variances.
- Monitor assembly orders for seed repacking, including consumption, output, and losses.
- Support inventory costing and landed-cost allocation.
- Maintain proper inventory and import documentation.
- Prepare regular inventory, shipment, and stock variance reports.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in inventory, logistics, or supply chain.
- Good understanding of importation and clearance processes.
- Experience with Business Central or another ERP system is an advantage.
- Good Excel, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Key KPIs: Inventory accuracy, timely shipment clearance, zero avoidable demurrage/storage charges, timely BC posting, stock variance, repacking losses, and documentation accuracy.
