Job Description
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit Training Manager to join and grow our team. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all training and competency programs within the mining operation. This role ensures that employees possess the required skills, certifications, and safety competencies to perform their duties effectively and in compliance with industry regulations. The Training Manager collaborates closely with operational leaders, safety teams, and HR to drive a strong safety culture, workforce capability, and continuous improvement in employee development.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain training frameworks aligned with operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Design and deliver onboarding, induction, and refresher training for all site personnel, contractors, and visitors.
- Create competency-based training programs for mining operations, including equipment operation, processing plants, maintenance, and support functions.
- Facilitate classroom, on-the-job, and e-learning training sessions.
- Ensure all training programs meet legal requirements under mining, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate training records and competency matrices for all employees and contractors.
- Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
- Conduct training needs analyses across departments to identify skill gaps.
- Develop training plans that support employee development, succession planning, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate external training providers, assess their performance, and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of trainers, assessors, and training coordinators.
- Work closely with mine managers, supervisors, and department heads to schedule and prioritize training.
- Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management on training outcomes and workforce capability.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in training & development, Education, HR, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or relevant national equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of mining operations, safety regulations, and competency frameworks.
- Experience delivering training to diverse workforces, including operators, technicians, and contractors.
Experience And Skills Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of training experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or similar high-risk environments.
- Previous leadership or management experience.
- Experience with LMS/HR systems and digital training tools.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, risk management, and safety systems.
- Experience in open-pit or underground mining environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage training in a dynamic operational environment.
- High attention to detail with a focus on compliance.
- Leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

About The Team
Bulyanhulu is situated in north-west Tanzania, in the Kahama district of the Shinyanga region, approximately 55 kilometres south of Lake Victoria and 150 kilometres southwest of the city of Mwanza.
Bulyanhulu is a narrow-vein gold mine containing gold, silver and copper mineralisation in sulphides. The mineralisation of Bulyanhulu is associated with a number of steeply-dipping veins. Bulyanhulu commenced commercial production in 2001.
