Graduate Geologist 2 Mine Geology at Geita Gold Mine Tanzania

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Support open pit mine geology production by understanding deposit geology and controls on mineralization to optimize mineable ore blocks and mining techniques, minimizing dilution and ore loss.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work safely and identify hazards while supporting open pit mine geology production activities.
• Assist in understanding deposit geology, orebody geometry, structural conditions, and controls on mineralization.
• Support pit mapping and cross sections, and maintain quality control for sampling from faces, benches, and stockpiles.
• Apply blast movement monitoring and ensure accurate ore block demarcation; record ore movements to correct destinations.
• Communicate geological results to ore control, modelling, evaluation, and operations stakeholders; maintain clear communication with ROM pad, truck, and excavator operators.
• Prepare and submit grade control drilling reports, open pit geological maps, and daily ore movement reports.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geoscience related field from a recognized Institution.
• Valid Tanzanian Driving license class D or above.

Experience

• At least two (2) years experience in OP or UG mining environment.

Knowledge & Skills

• Geological mapping skills.
• Computer skills such as MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint.
• Ore control management.
• RC drilling supervision.
