JOB ADVERT – HD Auto Electrician (01 VACANCY)

Position Description

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit an HD Auto Electrician to join and grow our team. Performing skilled automotive work in installing, repairing, wiring, and maintaining all electrical and electronic components or systems found in different motor vehicles and heavy mobile equipment or machinery as per shift assignment in accordance with Barrick health and safety standards and procedures.

• Designing a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades as per shift task assignment. 
• Performing electronic diagnostics on vehicles and other mobile equipment to identify faults and perform routine preventive maintenance as per the available maintenance schedule. 
• Repairing electrical and electronic faults in vehicles and motor equipment, replacing damaged/faulty parts where necessary, this includes, but is not limited to: alarm systems, windows and locks, interior and exterior lighting, and the internal CPU/ control box.  
• Assembling, replacing, and installing electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles and mobile equipment, including but not limited to: GPS systems, wiring systems, radios, sound systems, and television screens. 
• Performing checks and tests to verify the success of repair work and functionality of the electronic parts and accessories.   
• Perform modifications and install specialized parts or tools; assemble automotive electronics components according to specifications. 
• Preparing time and cost estimates for customers 
• Performing routine revision and maintenance on the motor vehicle 
• Attend breakdown calls on jobsites to perform minor repairs related to auto electrical.  
• Maintain and keep work logs, repairs, and maintenance records. 
• Maintain and repair shop equipment; clean and maintain assigned work area; dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures. 
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required at the workshop.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:                                                                             

• Secondary Education. 
• Technical/ Vocational School, Apprenticeship training, on-the-job training (FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test or its Equivalent) 
• Certificate/ Diploma in Auto Electrical Technology.  
• A valid Tanzanian Driving Licence is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 Years - Post-qualified experience in Heavy Mobile Equipment and Light Vehicle Auto-electrical Repair and Maintenance
• Exposure to working with automation of underground mechanized mining equipment.
• Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge 
• Knowledge of diagnostic tools for vehicle electrical and electronics 
• Ability to diagnose electrical malfunctions within automotive systems 
• Analytical skills, able to think logically and clearly; Strong attention to detail 
• Complex problem-solving skills. 
• Advanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems 
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical wiring 
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment 
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 
• Read and comprehend complex written repair manuals, schematics, and other written materials.  
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 
• Operate a variety of tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner. 
• Perform safety inspections and identify safety hazards. 
• Possession of good vision and the ability to identify different colors and symbols. 
• Ability to work in confined spaces, work standing, or in a crouched position for long periods.
