Job Description

Location: Nyanzaga Mine Site, Tanzania
Employment Type: Fixed Term of 24 Months

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Non Plant Infrastructure Planner to support the effective planning and coordination of maintenance activities for non-plant infrastructure at the Nyanzaga Mine Site.

The role is responsible for maximizing the availability, reliability, functionality and performance of non-plant infrastructure assets while minimizing downtime, operational disruption and lifecycle maintenance costs.

THE ROLE

  • Develop, coordinate and maintain effective maintenance plans, schedules, work scopes and resource requirements for non-plant infrastructure.
  • Plan maintenance activities for facilities, utilities, civil infrastructure, buildings and associated site services.
  • Ensure maintenance work is appropriately identified, scoped, resourced and scheduled for safe and efficient execution.
  • Work closely with Infrastructure Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Engineering, Projects, Facilities, Stores, Procurement, HSE, OEM representatives, service providers and contractors.
  • Ensure labour, materials, spare parts, tools, equipment, specialist services, technical information and permits are available when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance data within the CMMS, including asset records, maintenance strategies, preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, job plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), task lists and work history.
  • Support planned and corrective maintenance, breakdown recovery, infrastructure repairs, asset renewals, refurbishment projects, major maintenance activities, statutory inspections, campaigns and shutdown activities.
  • Monitor maintenance performance and identify planning and execution constraints.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve infrastructure reliability, asset availability, serviceability, maintenance efficiency and compliance.

  • Comply with the Company's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System, site procedures and applicable legislation.

  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox meetings, incident reporting and investigations.

  • The Maintenance Department has a target of zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs).

OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE PLANNING

  • Develop and maintain maintenance plans and schedules for non-plant infrastructure assets.
  • Prioritize, scope, resource, sequence and schedule work according to operational requirements and asset criticality.
  • Plan maintenance work for buildings and facilities, including offices, workshops, warehouses, camp and accommodation facilities.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance for roads, access infrastructure, drainage and other civil infrastructure.
  • Plan maintenance of water and wastewater systems, including pumps, pipelines, tanks, treatment systems and distribution networks.
  • Support planning of power distribution infrastructure serving non-plant facilities and site services.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance of building services, including servicing, inspections, repairs and replacement activities.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance of fire protection systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Review maintenance notifications, inspection findings, defects and work requests.
  • Develop execution-ready work packages covering labour, materials, tools, equipment, specialist services, permits and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Infrastructure Maintenance, Engineering, Projects, Facilities, HSE, Procurement, Stores, contractors and service providers to resolve planning constraints.
  • Ensure statutory inspections, certifications, testing and compliance-related maintenance activities are identified, planned, scheduled and tracked within the CMMS.
  • Support breakdown recovery, emergency repairs, major maintenance activities, refurbishment works, asset renewals, infrastructure improvement projects, campaigns and shutdown activities.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS asset and maintenance information, including asset hierarchies, maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance schedules, job plans, task lists, BOMs, statutory requirements and work history.
  • Review completed work, inspection findings, failure history and maintenance performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor maintenance backlog, schedule compliance, work readiness, statutory compliance and resource constraints.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve infrastructure availability, reliability, serviceability, safety, compliance, maintenance efficiency and lifecycle cost performance.

THE CANDIDATE

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in mobile equipment maintenance planning, preferably within mining, mineral processing, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in non-plant infrastructure maintenance planning, scheduling and work management.
  • Experience covering facilities, utilities, civil infrastructure and site services.
  • Experience planning maintenance for buildings and facilities, roads and access infrastructure, water and sewage systems, HVAC and building services, workshops, warehouses, offices, camp and accommodation facilities, drainage, civil infrastructure and fire protection systems.
  • Ability to develop detailed and executable maintenance work packages, including work scopes, job steps, labour requirements, estimated durations, materials, tools, equipment and specialist services.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, OEM manuals, service schedules, inspection reports, technical documentation, asset registers and applicable standards.
  • Good understanding of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies.
  • Knowledge of asset criticality, maintenance requirements, work prioritization, backlog management and maintenance scheduling.
  • Good understanding of maintenance safety requirements, risk assessment, isolation/LOTO, permit requirements, working-at-height, confined space and lifting requirements.
  • Pronto CMMS experience is required, or SAP.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Valid approved driver's licence and ability to operate company/site vehicles where required.

DESIRED

  • Technical qualification in Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade or technical discipline.
  • Technical training or demonstrated experience in non-plant infrastructure, facilities, utilities, civil works, building services or site infrastructure maintenance systems.
  • Experience working with OEMs, specialist service providers, contractors and consultants.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, statutory requirements, building services requirements, fire protection standards, water and wastewater requirements and civil infrastructure maintenance practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & LICENCES

  • Trade qualification or Diploma in a maintenance or related field.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours on occasions.
  • May be required to travel on company business.

ABOUT NYANZAGA GOLD PROJECT

Nyanzaga Gold Project is Perseus Mining's first planned operation in Tanzania and is located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields. A Final Investment Decision was made in April 2025, with first gold production targeted for early 2027.
