Fiber Optic Designer – Lead Designer at Savanna Fibre Tanzania

We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in planning, designing, and implementing high-performance fiber optic solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design fiber optic networks (FTTH/FTTB FTTs, backbone, and access networks) using CAD/GIS software.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including schematics, layouts, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with engineering, field teams, and clients to ensure feasibility and compliance.
• Analyze site surveys and data to plan optimal routing.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards and local regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in fiber optic network design (3+ years preferred).
• Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS).
• Strong understanding of FTTx architecture and fiber types.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Nice to Have:
• Knowledge of permitting processes and utility coordination.
• Experience with project management tools.
• Certifications in fiber optics or telecom design (e.g., FOA, CFOT).
