Mobile Machine Operator at Perseus Mining Tanzania

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Mobile Machine Operator.

The role of the Mobile Machine Operator is to:

• Safely operate Mobile equipment in the assistance of tasks in and around the processing plant
• Provide feedback to Process supervisors on current performance of the equipment they are responsible for in a timely manner as well as any safety issues encountered.
• Perform operational checks and housekeeping on the mobile equipment they are working.

Management of Safety, Environment, & Community Relations

• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, environment, health and community.

Operations

• Knowledge of Mobile equipment and basic maintenance of equipment
• Strong equipment operating abilities
• High level of communication in verbal and written skills
• Strong professional radio operation skills
• 5+ years of operating equipment preferably in a mining atmosphere
• Follow all site-specific SOP’s, Policies, Operational manuals
• Care and maintenance of mobile equipment
• Housekeeping of equipment
• Report all issues, anomalies, on daily operator log sheets accurately
• Maintain Code of Conduct
• Maintain Attendance
• Maintain shift KPI’s
• Perform Take 5 (FLRA’s)
• Understand priorities for delivery reagent to locations where they are needed
• Understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets) for reagents they will be handling
• Understand machine operating philosophies to lessen wear and tear on the equipment.

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attributes:

Essential

• Sufficient experience (typically 5+ years) on equipment operations preferably in a mining environment
• Form 4 Original or higher education level.
• Tanzanian driving licence
• Equipment operators’ certificate from a recognized training institute
• Familiarity with skid steer, tele-handler, wheel loader, and forklift equipment
• Clean driving extract record.

Desired

• Certificate of training completion for process plant circuits
• Proven experience in operating equipment in a process plant environment

Additional Information:

• Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
• Incumbent may be expected to work outside Normal Working Hours on occasions.
• Incumbent will from time to time be required to travel on company business.
