Process Plant Operator at Perseus Mining Tanzania

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Process Plant Operator.

The role of the Process Plant Operator is to:

• Conduct day to day activities in the plant to ensure the effective operation of the process plant.
• Provide feedback to Process supervisors on current performance of the section of the plant they are responsible for in a timely manner as well as any safety issues encountered.
• Perform operational checks and housekeeping in the section of the plant they are working.
• Maintain The Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Safety, Environment, & Community Relations

• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, environment, health and community.

Operations

• Conduct day to day activities in the plant to ensure the effective operation of the process plant.
• Provide feedback to Process supervisors on current performance of the section of the plant they are responsible for in a timely manner as well as any safety issues encountered.
• Perform operational checks relevant to assigned circuit.
• Operating areas Crusher, Milling, CIL, Elution and Detox
• Housekeeping duties for assigned circuits
• Care and Maintenance of tools, operating equipment and materials
• Proper care and storage of PPE
• Attending all relevant safety toolbox meetings, operational information gatherings, and handovers.
• Filling all relevant operational logs, reports, pre-start checks, and handover notes in a timely manner
• Maintain Attendance
• Maintain shift KPI’s
• Perform Take 5 (FLRA’s)

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attributes:

Essential

• Sufficient experience (typically 5+ years) in gold processing plant operations.
• Form 4 Original or higher education level.
• Tanzanian Driving Licence

Desired

• Equipment/Machine operating certificate from a recognized training institute
• Certificate of training completion for process plant circuits
• Additional Information:
• Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
• Incumbent may be expected to work outside Normal Working Hours on occasions.
• Incumbent will from time to time be required to travel on company business.
