Control Room Operator at Perseus Mining Tanzania

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is seeking a Control Room Operator.

The role of the Mobile Machine Operator is to:

• Control, Monitor and optimize plant performance capabilities
• Provide feedback to Process supervisors on current performance of the plant they are responsible for in a timely manner as well as any safety issues encountered.
• Perform operational checks and housekeeping in the section of the plant they are working.

Key Responsibilities

Management of Safety, Environment, & Community Relations

• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, environment, health and community.

People Management

• Train, and develop processing personnel to achieve safe, stable, and efficient plant performance for relief operation
• Maintain a strong safety and compliance culture through clear standards, and accountability
• Ensure personnel are appropriately trained, competent to perform assigned duties
• Promote clear communication and teamwork across shifts

Operations

• Knowledge of Control Plant Operations
• Strong computer skills with SCADA expertise skills
• Able to multitask
• Control and monitor multiple screens
• Able to interpret(track) trends in real time
• High level of communication in verbal and written skills
• Strong professional radio operation skills
• 10 years plus Control room experience preferably focused on Gold Processing Plants
• • Able to train new operators in Control Room operations
• Follow all site-specific SOP’s, Policies, Operational manuals
• Care and maintenance of PC’s, Monitors, UPS units, and IT equipment
• Housekeeping of Control Room
• Report all issues, anomalies, on operational log sheets accurately
• Report to supervisor all operational changes in real time
• Maintain Code of Conduct
• Maintain Attendance
• Maintain shift KPI’s
• Perform Take 5 (FLRA’s)

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Attributes:

Essential

• Sufficient experience (typically 10+ years) in gold processing plant operations.
• Form 4 Original or higher education level.

Desired

• Certificate of training completion for process plant circuits
• Tanzanian Driving Licence.

Additional Information:

• Prepared to undertake external training to complement the operation.
• Incumbent may be expected to work outside Normal Working Hours on occasions.
• Incumbent will from time to time be required to travel on company business.
