Officer 2 – CCTV at Geita Gold Mine Tanzania

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To ensure the CCTV control room is manned so that CCTV surveillance, fleet tracking system, radio and telephone, alarm management and electronic access control are properly operated to manage security and safety risks.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Conduct CCTV surveillance in line with control room procedures and monitor fleet tracking, alarms, access control, radio and telephone communications.
• Receive, record, coordinate and escalate all incidents reported to the control room, including security, safety and emergency events.
• Report intrusions, suspicious behaviour, safety breaches, hazards and incidents, and warn response teams of threats during incident response.
• Acknowledge alarms, monitor haulage and shipment activities, attend after-hour intercom calls, and ensure accurate completion of registers and operational records.
• Maintain control room readiness by ensuring systems are operational, faults are reported, equipment is cared for, shipment tools are charged, and the control room remains tidy and confidential.
• Support operational continuity by coaching new CCTV trainees, operating the weighbridge accurately, relieving the Shift Supervisor when required, and carrying out assigned CCTV control room duties.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Advanced Level of Education.
• Certificate of Surveillance Skills and Body Language Course.

Experience

• 2 years of experience in CCTV control room operations, surveillance, alarm, and fleet monitoring operations.
• 2 years in the security industry.

Knowledge & Skills

• No criminal record.
• Must have good written and oral communication skills in English language.
• Body language skills.
• CCTV operator skill.
• Trained in body language.
• CCTV Operator 1 and 2.
• Basic security skills.
• Sound decision making.
• Communication skill.
• Teamwork attitude.
• As required by in-country specific legislative requirements.
